The day Cohen settled into a studio in a neglected residential area, she found a welcome surprise. Some kind soul had removed a dilapidated building in the adjacent lot, revealing a view of a majestic, 7-story high tree outside her window. Marveling at the pollution and neglect the tree must have endured to survive, Cohen created Settling In to pay homage to the tree’s resilience and to remind us to notice and treasure nature’s wonders in our midst.
